WHAT IS i48 2012?

i48 2012 is the ninth annual Idaho Forty Eight Hour Film Competition and Festival. Teams of filmmakers from around Idaho will have 48 hours to write, pre-produce, cast, shoot, and edit, an original short film three (3) to six (6) minutes long. A week later, all completed films will be screened at the Flicks in Boise, Idaho, with a “Best Of i48” Screening and Awards Ceremony at the Egyptian Theatre.

WHEN IS i48 2012?

Competition:

Pre-production mtg: Friday, June 1, 2012 at 6pm. Municipal Park (500 S. Walnut Street, Boise)

Film Drop Off: Sunday, June 3, 2012 by 6pm. The Flicks Patio

Festival: 

All Films Screenings: Saturday, June 9th. Showtimes TBA at The Flicks.

“Best Of i48” Screening & Awards: Sunday, June 10, 7pm at the Egyptian Theatre

HOW DOES A TEAM SIGN UP?

Filmmaker teams must submit their application packets consisting of: 1) an Entry Form, 2) a Participation Agreement, and 3) the appropriate entry fee to “i48 c/o True West Inc. HOW MUCH IS THE ENTRY FEE?/WHAT IS THE DEADLINE?

The entry fee is $50.00 per team (check or money order) for applications postmarked or hand delivered to The Flicks by MAY 19, 2012. The entry fee is $100.00 per team (check or money order) for applications postmarked or hand delivered to The Flicks after MAY 19, 2012. The cut-off for applications is FRIDAY, June 1, 2012 at 5:30 p.m. (So, yes, you can procrastinate and walk up to the Pre-Production meeting on the first day of the competition, application in hand. It’ll just cost you more.) Please make out all checks or money orders to the “True West, Inc.”

WHAT DO I GET FOR MY ENTRY FEE?

In addition to a) defraying the costs of staging this event, and b) getting the opportunity to participate in this event, teams will receive ten (10) tickets to the Festival Screening of their film at the Flicks on Saturday, June 9, and ten (10) tickets to the “Best Of i48” Screening and Awards Ceremony on Sunday, June 10 at the Egyptian Theatre.

After 8 successful runs of the popular i48 Film Competition and Festival, we’re announcing a fall event to keep the creative juices flowing. h48 – The Horror Idaho 48 Film Competition and Festival.

WHAT IS h48?

The first (and possibly annual) Horror Idaho Forty Eight Hour Film Competition and Festival is a spin-off from the i48 Competition and Festival held every May-June.  In response to the frequent request from i48 teams for the “horror” genre and a relaxation of the i48 requirement that films be “PG” comes the opportunity to make movies as gory and profane as you want. Teams of filmmakers will have 48 hours to write, pre-produce, cast, shoot, and edit, an original short horror film five (5) to seven (7) minutes long.  A week later, all eligible films will be screened at the Horror Idaho 48 Film Festival at the Country Club Reel Theatre in Boise.

WHEN IS h48 2011?

Pre-production Meeting – Friday, Oct. 21, 2011 @ 6:00 p.m.

Film Drop Off – Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011 @ 6:00 p.m.

Horror Idaho 48 Festival – Saturday, Oct. 29 @ 5:00 p.m @ Country Club Reel Theaters - 4550 Overland Road, Boise, ID

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

Anyone with the enthusiasm, creativity, and energy, to shoot and edit a horror movie in 48 hours.

ARE THERE CATEGORIES OF COMPETITION?

No. All teams will compete in the same category.  Participation in h48 will be capped to thirteen (13) teams.

HOW DOES A TEAM SIGN UP?

A week later, all completed films will be screened at the Flicks in Boise, Idaho, with a “Best Of i48” Screening and Awards Ceremony at the Egyptian Theatre.

Subsequent screenings will be held in other participating cities throughout Idaho.

$50 ENTRY DEADLINE IS SATURDAY, MAY 21st! POSTMARK OR DELIVER TO THE FLICKS BY THAT DATE!

ENTIRES WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THE DEADLINE, BUT THE FEE IS $100 AFTER MAY 21st.
